Les Hévin seraient originaires d’Irlande et descendent de Jean qui vint s’établir à Arras en 1537. On les trouve ensuite en Bretagne. La famille compte un célèbre jurisconsulte Pierre Hévin qui était conseiller au présidial. Il est le père de Jacques-Jean Hévin, maire de Rennes et décédé en 1758 auquel nous attribuons ces jetons (source : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/odile.halbert/Famille/Hevin.pdf). Ce jeton de 1762 serait une frappe posthume.
The Hévins are said to have originated in Ireland and are descended from Jean, who came to settle in Arras in 1537. They are then found in Brittany. The family includes a famous legal adviser, Pierre Hévin, who was a councilor at the presidial court.
