Les fusaïoles ont été utilisées à toutes époque, pour lester le fuseau. Associées au travail de la laine, elles furent utilisées de la préhistoire au début du XXe siècle. Les exemplaires en plomb, plus ou moins ornés ou dits “à cabochons” ont souvent (à tort) été classés parmi les rouelles gauloises....

Specialized studies, comparisons of material, archaeological inventories remain to be carried out before being able to decide and separate what is ancient from what is not..
