RUTENI (Area of Rodez)
(1st century BC)
In Roman times, part of the Rutenes was integrated into the Provincia. They are cited several times by Caesar in the Commentaries, (I., 45), (VII., 5, 7 64, 75 and 90). Their civitas corresponds to the former Rouergue, the entirety of the current department of Aveyron.
