Аверс: описание: Buste diadémé et drapé de Sabine à droite, les cheveux relevés, artistiquement coiffés (L5).

Аверс: перевод: “Sabina Augusta Hadriani Augusti Pater Patriæ”, (Sabine auguste femme d’Hadrien père de la patrie).

Обратная сторона

Реверс: легенда: S C À L’EXERGUE.

Реверс: Описание: Vesta voilée assise à gauche, tenant le palladium de la main droite et un sceptre transversal de la main gauche.

Реверс: перевод: “Senatus Consulto”, (Par décret du Sénat).

Комментарий

Poids léger. Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire du British Museum (BMC. pl. 65/2). Type de revers exceptionnel avec les lettres S C. Ce type cotait 25 francs or dans la deuxième édition du Cohen (1880) soit le prix d’un solidus.

Sabine is the daughter of Matidie and the granddaughter of Marciane, sister of Trajan. Hadrian, pupil of Trajan, marries the great-niece of his tutor in 100. The couple has no children. Sabine receives the title of augusta in 128 only. She dies at the end of the year 136.
