Gaston Julia (1893-1978) est un mathématicien français, spécialiste des fonctions d’une variable complexe. Après avoir été gravement blessé au visage lors de la Première Guerre Mondiale, il continue ses travaux de recherches et devient enseignant. Il occupa également de nombreuses chaires et fut élu membre en 1939 de l’Académie des Sciences qu’il dirigea plus tard (cf. Wikipédia).
Gaston Julia (1893-1978) was a French mathematician specializing in functions of a complex variable. After suffering a serious facial injury during the First World War, he continued his research and became a teacher. He also held numerous professorships and was elected a member of the French Academy of Sciences in 1939, which he later headed (see Wikipedia).
