Marie la Juive est une alchimiste de l'époque hellénistique qui a probablement vécu entre le IIIe et le IIe siècle de notre ère. Elle est considérée comme l'une des fondatrices de l'alchimie. L'invention de plusieurs instruments et techniques lui est attribuée, dont le bain-marie, le kerotakis et le tribikos.
This is the ninth coin in an edition of 100. Mary the Jewess was a Hellenistic alchemist who likely lived between the 3rd and 2nd centuries AD. She is considered one of the founders of alchemy. She is credited with the invention of several instruments and techniques, including the bain-marie, the kerotakis, and the tribikos.
