Exemplaire sur un flan large et épais bien centré. Très beau portrait de Koré avec une chevelure élaborée Frappe un peu molle avec une usure régulière. Patine marron foncé, légèrement granuleuse

(317-289 BC)

Agathokles, tyranus of Syracuse

Agathokles had seized power in Syracuse in 317 BC and assumed the title of king in 305 BC. In 310 the tyrant invaded North Africa and attacked Carthage, but he was defeated in 307 and must retire to Sicily. Peace, signed the following year with the hereditary enemy, consecrates the hegemony of Agathokles over all Sicily.
