La médaille est conservée dans une boite écrin verte avec un intérieur en feutrine et soie blanche timbrée d’une inscription en lettres dorées : Brennus, 40 rue Montmorency, Paris.

L'Union des sociétés françaises de sports athlétiques, USFSA, est une fédération sportive française omnisports fondée en 1887. Son logo figure un anneau bleu et rouge entrelacés dans un U blanc.

Charles Brennus est un graveur et médailleur français, cofondateur de la fédération française de rugby. Il a réalisé de nombreuses médailles de championnat de rugby, et il est également créé le “bouclier de Brennus” : il s’agit d’un bouclier symbolique en or sur âme de bois décerné aux vainqueurs du championnat de France de rugby, le Top 14 (rugby à XV). Ce bouclier est toujours utilisé et le nom de chaque équipe victorieuse est gravée sur une plaque annexe.

André Theuriet (1887-1965) est un illustre sportif français. Il s’investit tout au long de sa vie dans de très nombreux sports, comme la canne de combat, le tir, la marche, la boxe anglaise, le hockey sur gazon, ou encore le football. Il est capitaine du SCUF (sporting club universitaire de France) pour le rugby en 1921. Il a reçu de très nombreux prix : champion de France scolaire d’athlétisme, Champion de France scolaire (la présente médaille) et universitaire de Cross country, Champion de Paris de water polo en 1909. Il participe même aux Jeux Olympiques de Londres en 1908 en natation, dans l’épreuve du 1500 mètres nage libre. Il acquiert au rugby une notoriété internationale en représentant la France entre 1909 et 1913.

André Theuriet (1887-1965) was a famous French sportsman. Throughout his life, he was involved in many sports, such as cane fighting, shooting, walking, English boxing, field hockey, and even football.. He was captain of the SCUF (Sporting Club Universitaire de France) for rugby in 1921. He received numerous awards: French school athletics champion, French school champion (this medal) and university cross country champion, Paris water polo champion in 1909. He even participated in the 1908 London Olympic Games in swimming, in the 1500 meter freestyle event.. He gained international renown in rugby by representing France between 1909 and 1913.
