SWITZERLAND - CANTON OF VALAIS
This canton located in the south of the Swiss Confederation is located in the upper Rhone Valley. From 1613 to 1798, a Diet chaired by the Prince-Bishop of Sion (Sitten in German) managed the affairs of the Canton.
