THEODOSIUS II
(01/10/402-07/28/450)
Theodosius II, born in 401, was proclaimed august in 402 at 9 months. After the death of his father Arcadius in 408, the two chancelleries of Ravenna and Constantinople are cold. Honorius would like to reunite the Empire. On his death on August 15, 423, John, secretary to the late Emperor and new august, had a very small series of solidi minted in the name of Theodosius II until November 20, when he was considered a usurper. Jean will finally be captured at the beginning of 425 in Ravenna, mutilated, then executed. Theodosius II will install his cousin Valentinian III as august in Ravenna. Theodosius reigns for forty-eight years over the destinies of the East and dies of a hunting accident.
