Cette médaille a certainement été émise par une association patriotique, celles-ci foisonnaient à l’époque. Notons que, sauf difficulté à s’y retrouver dans les 168 médailles qu’Orsay a pour Roty en collection, ils n’ont qu’une version en cuivre argenté http://www.musee-orsay.fr/fr/collections/catalogue-des-oeuvres/notice.html?no_cache=1&nnumid=055380&cHash=77b844d0a7 alors que notre exemplaire est en argent.

On February 16, 1899, President Faure died in gallant company at the Élysée.. Émile Loubet succeeds him. Dreyfus was condemned a second time on September 9, 1899, pardoned by the President and released. The working day is limited to 11 hours a day thanks to the socialist Millerand, March 30, 1900. The Olympic Games and the Universal Exhibition were held in Paris in 1900. Metropolitan line n°1 was inaugurated on July 19, 1900. On July 1, the law on associations is promulgated. Émile Combes becomes President of the Council on June 1, 1902. The first Tour de France took place from July 1 to 19, 1903. With the Entente Cordiale, France and England sign a treaty of alliance on April 8, 1904. Jean Jaurès publishes the first issue of Humanity on April 18. The government, dominated by Freemasons, excludes religious congregations from education, which leads to the breakdown of diplomatic relations with the Holy See. Military service was reduced to two years in 1905, despite the Tangier incident with Germany which almost caused war. Combes passes the law of separation of Church and State on July 3, 1905.
