Комментарий

Martin Coles Harman fait l’acquisition en 1925 de l’Île de Lundy située dans le Canal de Bristol. Il s’autoproclame roi de Lundy et en 1929 fait frapper des monnaies de 1/2 Puffin et de 1 Puffin à son effigie. Cependant, il est condamné par la justice britannique pour infraction au Coinage Act de 1870. De nouvelles monnaies ont été frappée en 1965 et 2011.
Martin Coles Harman acquired Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel in 1925. He proclaimed himself King of Lundy and in 1929 had 1/2 Puffin and 1 Puffin coins minted in his image. However, he was convicted by the British courts for violating the Coinage Act of 1870. New coins were minted in 1965 and 2011.
