Ces monnaies ont sans doute été frappées en Angleterre pour le compte de marchands de Singapour. Cette région située sur la côte sud-ouest de la péninsule malaisienne est alors contrôlée depuis 1824 par les Anglais.
These coins were probably minted in England on behalf of merchants from Singapore. This region located on the southwest coast of the Malaysian peninsula had been controlled by the English since 1824.
