Exemplaire sur un flan très large et irrégulier, légèrement échancré à 12 heures au droit. Portrait particulier, fortement stylisé. Revers stylisé. Patine de collection avec des reflets dorés

Комментарий

Type inhabituel et particulier. Le revers est directement copié sur le monnayage athénien stéphanophore dit “de nouveau style” tandis que le droit est emprunté au monnayage d’Auguste. Les auteurs du Sylloge de l’American Numismatic Society attribuent ce type au Katabaniens, peuple de l’Arabie Heureuse antique.
Unusual and peculiar type. The reverse is directly copied from the Athenian Stephanophore coinage known as “new style” while the obverse is borrowed from the coinage of Augustus. The authors of the Sylloge of the American Numismatic Society attribute this type to the Katabanians, a people of ancient Arabia Felix.
