Exemplaire sur un petit flan un peu court au droit à l’usure régulière. Belle tête d’Apollon. Proue de galère bien venue au revers. Patine grise, légèrement granuleuse. A été nettoyée anciennement

BITHYNIA - KIOS

(4th century BC)

Kios was a rich commercial city at the entrance to the Propontis, founded according to legend by the Argonauts. Coinage would not begin before the second half of the 4th century BC. It was part of the Kingdom of Thrace under Lysimachus. The city was destroyed by Philip V of Macedon in 202 BC..
