Petite monnaie homogène, avec une frappe bien centrée, sur un flan un peu court. Monnaie néanmoins presque complète avec toutes les caractéristiques nécessaires bien nettes. Patine sombre et granuleuse, avec un coup de burin au revers et un autre plus léger au droit

Le droit de ce quart a la particularité de présenter des motifs triangulaires, comme rayonnant, derrière la chevelure. Cette caractéristique ne semble pas avoir été observée sur les statères alors qu’elle est régulière sur les quarts.
Si le nez du droit se rapporte aux statères de la classe VI, le revers est quant à lui quasiment l'exacte réduction modulaire du statère de la classe V.
The obverse of this quarter has the particularity of presenting triangular motifs, as if radiating, behind the hair. This characteristic does not seem to have been observed on the staters while it is regular on the quarters. If the nose of the obverse relates to the staters of class VI, the reverse is almost the exact modular reduction of the stater of class V

CORIOSOLITÆ (Area of Corseul, Cotes d'Armor)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Coriosolites were an Armorican people, settled in the current department of Côtes-d'Armor. They had for neighbors the Osismes, the Vénètes, the Namnètes and the Redons. They were a seafaring people whose main port seems to have been Alet. Their name is still preserved today in that of Corseul. They played an important role in trade with insular Britain, took part in the campaign of 57 BC and were subjugated by Crassus. The following year, they again participated in the revolt of the Armoricans under the leadership of the Veneti with the Unelles and the Lexoviens, all crushed by Caesar. In 52 BC, the Coriosolites participated in the contingent of twenty thousand men that the Armoricans sent to free Vercingetorix, besieged in Alesia. Caesar (BG. II, 34; III, 7, 11; VII, 75).
