Exemplaire de poids léger ; le poids moyen des 24 deniers de ce type conservés à la BN est de 1,78 grammes. On peut remarquer une sorte d'encoche sur la tranche qui laisse penser qu'il s'agit d'une monnaie fourrée, ce qui expliquerait son poids léger.

The Leuques are mentioned only once in the Gallic Wars. Their neighbors were the Médiomatriques, the Lingons and the Séquanes. The Leuques as well as the Séquanes and the Lingones provided Caesar with wheat when the Roman army stopped at Vesontio (Besançon) to refuel before facing the Germans of Ariovistus (58 BC).
