Cet exemplaire est encore lourd (8,45 g) pour un poids théorique de 8,60 g et le style relativement grec bien que nous puissions déceler un début de stylisation dans le traitement de la tête d’Apollon et au revers dans la représentation du bige.
Cet exemplaire est très proche de la monnaie n° 3 de l’article d’Allen “The Philippus in Switzerland and the Rhineland”, RSN 1974. D’après le tableau de liaisons de coins établit par J. Sills, ce statère a été frappé avec le coin de droit n° 3 et de revers n° 1, comme les exemplaires Carlyon-Britton (Sotheby 17/11/1913, n° 1), Brussels FU, G2, Schörghuber n° 383 ou encore le n° 588 de Nantes (Mainjonet 1973, n° 166).
This specimen is still heavy (8.45 g) for a theoretical weight of 8.60 g and the style relatively Greek although we can detect the beginnings of stylization in the treatment of the head of Apollo and on the reverse in the representation of the bige. This specimen is very close to coin no. 3 of Allen's article “The Philippus in Switzerland and the Rhineland”, RSN 1974. According to the die link table established by J. Sills, this stater was struck with the obverse die no. 3 and reverse no. 1, like the Carlyon-Britton examples (Sotheby 17/11/1913, no. 1), Brussels FU, G2, Schörghuber no. 383 or even no. 588 from Nantes (Mainjonet 1973, no. 166)
