Комментарий

Cet exemplaire semble appartenir à la phase finale du monnayage namnète. La couleur est beaucoup plus claire et semble contenir moins d’or et plus d’argent. L’appellation à l’hippophore vient du personnage qui est placé sous le cheval au revers (mot à mot celui qui porte le cheval où hippos se traduit par cheval et phoros par qui porte, en grec).
This coin appears to belong to the final phase of Namnete coinage. The color is much lighter and appears to contain less gold and more silver. The name hippophora comes from the figure placed under the horse on the reverse (literally, the one carrying the horse, where hippos translates as horse and phoros as the one carrying, in Greek).
