Exemplaire sur un flan large, ovale et irrégulier. Très beau portrait. Joli revers de style fin, mais de frappe un peu molle. Recouvert d’une fine patine grise superficielle

Gordian III is the grandson of Gordian I and the nephew of Gordian II, ephemeral emperors of the year 238. At the request of the people of Rome, he is chosen as Caesar by Balbin and Pupian and succeeds them after their assassinations.
