Pierre Courant est un homme politique français, né le 12 septembre 1897 au Havre et décédé le 22 mars 1965 dans sa ville natale.
Avocat, ancien bâtonnier, il est élu député de la Seine-Inférieure (aujourd'hui Seine-Maritime) aux deux Assemblées nationales constituantes puis à l’Assemblée nationale comme républicain-indépendant (CNI) de 1946 à 1962.
Il se prononce pour le retour du Général de Gaulle au pouvoir en 1958.
Il est maire du Havre de 1941 à 1944 puis de 1947 à 1954. Conseiller général depuis 1945, il fut président de l’assemblée départementale. Il fut membre de l’Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de l'Europe..
Pierre Courant was a French politician, born on September 12, 1897 in Le Havre and died on March 22, 1965 in his hometown. A lawyer and former president of the Bar, he was elected deputy for Seine-Inférieure (now Seine-Maritime) to the two National Constituent Assemblies and then to the National Assembly as an Independent Republican (CNI) from 1946 to 1962. He advocated for the return of General de Gaulle to power in 1958. He was mayor of Le Havre from 1941 to 1944 and from 1947 to 1954. A general councilor since 1945, he was president of the departmental assembly. He was a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
