Ce noyau d'un faux d'époque est lisse au droit, mais le revers permet une identification exacte. Patine marron, légèrement granuleuse

Ce type de statère est du même type que celui dessiné dans le LA TOUR II, 8990. On distingue la croix bouletée au-dessus du cheval et le sommet de la lyre entre ses jambes. L’encolure du cheval n’est pas visible, mais on distingue la volute qu’il a en guise de tête.

(2nd - 1st century BC)

The Leuques are mentioned only once in the Gallic Wars. Their neighbors were the Médiomatriques, the Lingons and the Séquanes. The Leuques as well as the Séquanes and the Lingones provided Caesar with wheat when the Roman army stopped at Vesontio (Besançon) to refuel before facing the Germans of Ariovistus (58 BC). Caesar (BG. I, 40).
