Monnaie de nécessités pour la Compagnie des Mines d’Aniche qui est créée en 1757 dans le Nord à l’ouest de la ville de Valenciennes. Nationalisée en 1944, le dernier puits du Groupe de Valencienne ferme en 1988.

MINES AND FORGES
The numismatics of the mines was the subject of a study by Jules Florange in 1904. The latter listed the numismatic material relating to the mines: medals, tokens of attendance, tokens of necessity or fiduciary coins, tokens of the superintendents of the mines. Another remarkable work is the work of the Association of Coin Collectors in 1999.
