Историческая справка

PHILIPPE D'ORLÉANS and LOUIS XV

Philippe d'Orléans (1674-1723) was the son of Philippe d'Orléans (1640-1701) and the brother of Louis XIV and Charlotte, Princess Palatine (1652-1722). Philippe married Françoise-Marie (1677-1749), natural daughter of Louis XIV and the Marquise de Montespan. On September 1, 1715, on his deathbed, Louis XIV planned a collegial regency made up of Philippe d'Orléans and the legitimized sons of the King. On September 2, 1715, Philippe d'Orléans, the regent, had his uncle's will annulled by the Parliament of Paris in exchange for the right of remonstrance. Philippe will be regent until his death on December 2, 1723. Louis XV, meanwhile, was born on February 15, 1710, third son of Louis, Duke of Burgundy, son of the Grand Dauphin. He is the great-grandson of Louis XIV. Duke of Anjou and Brittany, he became Dauphin on March 8, 1712 after the death of his grandfather in 1711, of his father and his brother in 1712. He succeeded his great-grandfather, Louis XIV, on the 1st September 1715 and will be consecrated in Reims on October 25, 1722.
