Cette petite médaille fut émise à l’occasion des Xèmes Jeux Olympiques d’Hiver ayant eu lieu du 6 au 18 février 1968 à Grenoble.
L’emblème des Jeux Olympiques fut créé par Roger Excoffon. Elle représente un cristal de neige entouré des trois roses rouges symboles de la ville de Grenoble et surmontant les anneaux olympiques.
This small medal was issued for the 10th Winter Olympic Games, which took place from February 6 to 18, 1968, in Grenoble. The emblem of the Olympic Games was created by Roger Excoffon. It represents a snow crystal surrounded by the three red roses, symbols of the city of Grenoble, and surmounting the Olympic rings.

The Fifth Republic, whose constitution was approved by referendum on September 28, 1958 by more than 79% of French people, only officially began with the installation of General de Gaulle as president on January 8, 1959.
