Exemplaire sur un flan large, avec un éclatement de frappe au-dessus du sanglier. Très beau revers complet. Patine sombre, un peu granuleuse, avec des teintes rougeâtres sur les points les plus en relief

Semble être le troisième exemplaire connu, après ceux du Crédit de la Bourse, 12 juin 1997, n° 256 et de MONNAIES XV, n° 1092. Semble toujours être inédit et manquer aux principaux ouvrages consultés. Ces trois exemplaires semblent êtres issus des mêmes coins de droit et de revers. Cet exemplaire est le plus beau et permet de distinguer le double grènetis du droit.

VELIOCASSES, Unspecified
(1st century BC)
The Véliocasses, people of Belgian Gaul, lived in the Norman Vexin located in the current department of Seine-Maritime. Their neighbors were the Lexovians and the Aulerci Éburovices, with the Seine as their border, and on the other side the Parisii, the Calètes and the Bellovaques. They participated in the Belgian coalition of 57 BC, led by the Bellovaques and provided a contingent of ten thousand men. But in 52 BC, for the relief army to release Vercingetorix besieged in Alesia, they only gave three thousand men. The following year, in 51 BC, they took part for the last time in the coalition of the Belgians in revolt under the leadership of the Bellovaques. Their main oppidum was Rouen (Rotomagus).
