Историческая справка

VERAMAX

In 2016, we celebrated the five hundredth anniversary of the arrival of Leonardo da Vinci at Clos Lucé located in Amboise. Leonardo da Vinci spent the last four years of his life there.. The Clos Lucé castle, formerly called the Cloux manor, is a residence located in France, in the heart of the Loire Valley, in the city center of Amboise. Originally designed in 1471 as a former stronghold under the Château d'Amboise, it passed through several hands before being bought by Charles VIII and becoming a summer residence for the kings of France.. He will keep this function until 1516 when François I puts him at the disposal of Leonardo da Vinci until his death on May 2, 1519. On June 19, 1518, Leonardo da Vinci organized a party at the Château du Clos Lucé to thank the king for his benefactions. A capital was erected and a canvas painted blue was erected, depicting the celestial vault with the planets, the sun, the moon and the twelve signs of the zodiac.. Ambassador Galeazzo Visconti reported in a letter that “the Most Christian King gave a banquet in an admirable feast […]. The place was the Cloux, very beautiful and large palace. The courtyard was covered with sky-blue sheets, then there were the major planets, the sun on one side and the moon on the opposite side […]. There were 400 two-armed candelabra, and so illuminated, it seemed as if the night had been chased away.. Leonardo da Vinci died in his bedroom at the Château du Clos Lucé on May 2, 1519, bequeathing his manuscripts, sketchbooks and sketches to his beloved disciple, Francesco Melzi. The invented scene where the painter dies in the arms of François 1er has been the subject of many paintings, notably The Death of Leonardo da Vinci by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, now kept at the Petit Palais..
