Exemplaire sur un flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés. Cheval de style fin. Joli revers. Patine grise de collection ancienne, légèrement granuleuse au revers

Комментарий
Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare, le cheval ne lève pas un antérieur. De même, au revers, le couvre nez est figuré et semble donner vie à ce casque macédonien orné d’une pupille. Il ressemble au groupe 2 déterminé par Charles A. Hersch avec la tête casquée (n° 31-46). Nous n’avons pas relevé d’identité de coin pertinente pour ce type.
This type seems much rarer, the horse does not raise a foreleg. Similarly, on the reverse, the nose cover is figured and seems to bring this Macedonian helmet decorated with a pupil to life. It resembles Group 2 determined by Charles A. Hersch with the helmeted head (No. 31-46). We have not noted any relevant die identity for this type

MACEDONIA - MACEDONIAN KINGDOM - ALEXANDER I
(495-454 BC)
Alexander I traced his lineage back to Caranos, one of the Heraclides. It is this mythical king who would have founded Aigia (Ægæ). Alexander is the son of Amyntas I who reigned at the end of the 6th century BC. Alexander I, considered a Philhellene, was an ally and tributary of the Persians. After the defeat of Salamis, Mardonius, satrap of Xerxes, charged him with negotiating peace with the Greeks. His mediation in Athens failed. Favorable to the Greeks, Alexander advised them of Mardonius' plans on the eve of the Battle of Plataea (479 AC.). He is the first Macedonian king who placed his name on coins after this battle and took advantage of the confusion arising from the Persian defeat to expand his kingdom. He moved the capital to Pydna. His son, Perdiccas II (454-413 AC.) succeeded him.
