De Bie describes this reverse as follows: “It represents a powerful and large hand, moving from the sky, in the act of bringing the holy ampoule filled with balm, for the coronation of the most Christian king humiliated at the ceremonies, which were carried out by the ministry of François Cardinal Duke of Joyeuse, in the name of Louis de Lorraine, titled archbishop of Reims (later called Cardinal de Guyse) but not yet promoted to the Orders required to attend to it by himself. Without exergue: especially since the motto descending from the finger between the beading and rising there, usurped his office, and placed him in his wake.”
