Poids léger. Notre exemplaire semble des mêmes coins que l’exemplaire du trésor d’Agrinion en Étolie (ICGH. 271), (M. Thompson, The Agrinion Hoard, NNM. 159, p. 65, pl. XLV).
Light weight. Our example appears to be of the same dies as the example from the Agrinion hoard in Aetolia (ICGH. 271), (M. Thompson, The Agrinion Hoard, NNM. 159, p. 65, pl. XLV)

Историческая справка

CORINTHIA - ACHAEAN LEAGUE - CORINTH

(196-146 BC)

Corinth became one of the most important cities of Greece by controlling militarily and economically the Isthmus of the same name. Founded by the Aeolian, Corinth was placed between central Greece and the Peloponnese. It is the motherland of many cities, Corinthian colonies, including Syracuse, Corcyra, Ambracia, Anactorium and Leucas. During the Peloponnesian War (431-404 AC. ) she was, with Sparta, one of the most implacable enemies of Athens. Corinth succeeds in maintaining its independence against the suffocating domination of the Macedonians. At the end of the reign of Philip II of Macedon (359-336 AC. ), she allied with Athens and Thebes and was defeated at the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC.. -VS. Philippe maintained his autonomy. Corinth was the unwitting victim of Macedonian hegemony over Asia from Alexander the Great because it then lost its strategic role. Ptolemy I occupied it from 308 to 306 BC. -VS. , which marks the date of the end of the manufacture of "foals". She joined the Achaean league after 268 BC. -VS. , but the city was razed by Lucius Memmius in 146 BC. -VS. for opposing Rome.
