v29_0658 - GALLIA - SUDOVESTE DELLA GALLIA LONGOSTALETES (Regione di Narbonne) Drachme “au style languedocien”, S. 295 var

De par son état, ou plutôt sa frappe décentrée et molle, cette drachme est difficile à identifier mais néanmoins très intéressante. Si la tête semble correspondre à la monnaie précédente, le revers ne correspond à rien de publié, avec cette petite hache ramassée entre la croix et la lunule. On observe plusieurs cassures de coins au revers, dont une qui ressemble à une croisette (volontaire ?). Le poids de cette drachme est lui aussi surprenant car particulièrement léger pour une drachme languedocienne !.
Due to its condition, or rather its off-centered and soft strike, this drachma is difficult to identify but nevertheless very interesting. If the head seems to correspond to the previous coin, the reverse does not correspond to anything published, with this small axe picked up between the cross and the lunula. There are several die breaks on the reverse, including one that resembles a cross (intentional?). The weight of this drachma is also surprising because it is particularly light for a Languedoc drachma!
