bmv_472391 - SENS (SENONES CIVITAS) - Yonne Denier “de Genillé” au double monogramme édiculaire

Un denier de ce type avec la légende CAPAS nous avait fait l’attribuer à Cheppes (Marnes) ; cf. bmv_287944.
D’un type comparable, mais avec le monogramme édiculaire au droit comme au revers, cet exemplaire présente malheureuseent des légendes hors flan. Si son attribution est complexe, il est cohérent de proposer une origine dans la Marne.
Dans son récent ouvrage sur la circulation monétaire en Touraine, P. Schiesser recense 14 monnaies sous l’appellation de “Génillé”, avec le denier de Troyes pour FREDEBERTVS en prototype.

Of a comparable type, but with the aedicular monogram on the obverse as well as on the reverse, this example unfortunately has legends outside the flan.
