La société des Mines et Fonderies de Zinc de la Vieille-Montagne remis cette médaille à son directeur général Louis-Alexandre Saint Paul de Sincay pour sa période d’exercice : 1837-1887. Il s’agissait d’une entreprise d'origine liégeoise productrice de zinc fondée en 1837 et dont le siège d'exploitation était à Angleur.
