After the Treaty of Pressburg (1805), Tyrol was annexed by Bavaria. From April 9, 1809, the population loyal to Emperor Francis II of Austria rose up. Innkeeper Andreas Hofer leads the insurrectionary movement against Bavaria (against the French Civil Code, the Concordat and conscription).
